Personally, I think there's a large turnover in SA's at the outlets which may account for their lack of knowledge. Outlet bags are different from the Boutique bags, interior as well as exterior. Another tell tale sign is the quality. Retail bags will have smooth zips, shiny gold plated hardware and the leather quality is top notch. I can't help but notice that there are a lot of their bags now in places like Nordstrom Rack and the Bloomingdales and Saks outlet stores and some folks have seen them at Marshalls/TJ Maxx. I was reading an article about MK vs coach and how a lot of the coach fans are leaving coach for MK because coach has become so easily available and affordable. It's true it seems like everybody in my area (by Tampa, FL) has a coach bag but MK seems to be more exclusive and if I do see an MK bag it's typically the less expensive logo tote.
